The 140 character limit in twitter can be viewed as a viture in that it forces use of condensed updates which gives room for huge number of posts to board the timeline in short periods. However, it also poses as a constraint when a rather elaborate expression is required in an update. Tweet extenders and link shortners provide for some relief in this regard.
What I am proposing is that, we users can agree to use the “>” and “<” signs to denote that this update is related to a preceding or succeding post repectively. Once this has been established, application and browser developers will deifinately move to embede functions that bring togther recently related posts of a followee in one view.
To sight an example, assume that you come across this recent tweet of mine:
smdirar: <Thanks to God. Got all my followers back. What a freaking glitch.
Without the < sign you may not get what
smdirar: Is there a glitch or something? It says I have 0 followers
